Elizabeth Donaldson is a twenty-two year old Pittsburgh native studying English with a Creative Writing Focus and History at Allegheny College. Lizzy began writing creatively in elementary school, developing confidence and more focused interest as a student at the Western Pennsylvania Writing Project's Young Writers' Institute, where she studied under poets Stacey Waite and Brian Francis. In high school, Lizzy was introduced to creative nonfiction, which she studied at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and later, at the collegiate level at Allegheny College and the Black Forest Writing Seminar in Freiburg, Germany. In the fall of 2014, she completed "Orator of the Natural", a senior thesis concerning the ecofeminist themes of Maxine Kumin and Elizabeth Bishop along with 25 original pieces of poetry that reflected the artistic and contextual elements of the studied authors. Lizzy will graduate in May of 2015 and hopes to begin a career that will satisfy her need for creative and personal growth.
